Trip Leader

It was a pleasant surprise to receive an email last week from our India trip leader. He wrote that " It's a great pleasure and Honor to have you as our guest in this incredible nation." Nice wording.

He gave some suggestions (in his words, about items we should bring with us:
1.
Please bring an umbrella (Hat) or a rain jacket along with you.
Hopefully we won't need them!
2. Please bring sun screen lotion as well.
Of course. Steve will fry without it.
3. A Mask or a Bandanna would be helpful because some of our rides are going to be very dusty (Wild Life Sanctuary & the Camel ride).
I've read about the dust. This year has been very dry so should be even more than usual. Yes, there is a camel ride.
4. Monsoon invites mosquitoes & insects and thus you may require the use of mosquito & insect repellents at some places, such as the Camp, Wild Life sanctuary. We're taking malarone (anti-malaria med) and bug stuff (not Deet kind) so should be ok.
5. "Air borne" is supposed to be quite effective for strengthening immunity to cold and viral infections. He probably isn't familiar with the lawsuit that was filed against them. I take it anyway and do believe it makes a difference. Can't hurt...
6. Considering the fact that the airlines flying to India invariably misplace the checked baggage's, Not a pleasant thought! it would be advisable to pack your carry on (and/or in your Companion's bag) with a change or two, That would be half my wardrobe! and with the essentials like medicines etc. I always carry on my meds. In case your luggage does not arrive with you, Positive thoughts... it WILL ARRIVE WITH US please file a claim with the airline before leaving the airport. No need with my positive thoughts. It would be advisable to insist with the handling authority of the airline that they give you some money to buy toiletries etc. Money of course!

He gave us his cell phone number in case we need it. Of course, we have the OAT itinerary with hotel numbers.

I sent him with an email, asking about whether we needed to bring hiking shoes (not needed), a hairdryer (Need to bring since some places might not have them.), and which adapter plugs are needed (We were 99% sure about which one but good to have confirmation.)

So, we'll meet Sanjay Sethi in a little more than a week.
